Cats in Cracks lives in the rupture between worlds.
Each painting captures a moment where reality splits open—clean, blue sky surfaces tearing apart like paper—revealing something both familiar and impossible pushing through. The cats emerge not as ordinary animals, but as interdimensional entities, caught mid-transition between planes of existence. They are neither fully here nor fully elsewhere—existing in a charged, liminal state where boundaries collapse.
Visually, the series fuses surrealism and pop art into a singular language. The surrealist influence appears in the concept itself: impossible space, fractured realities, and beings that defy physical logic. These are dream-states made visible—portals disguised as paintings. At the same time, the work is driven by bold pop art aesthetics: high-contrast color, graphic linework, exaggerated expression, and immediate visual punch. The electric pinks, saturated blues, and sharp outlines pull the viewer in instantly—while the underlying concept holds them there.
